Another one bites the dust……

Today in the DFW area, it was an absolutely nutty sportsday. First, in the morning was a crazy car chase. Then in the afternoon I turn onto 105.3 FM The Fan to find RAGE (2p.m.-7p.m.) were not on the air. Also I find out about the 2 bombs that go off at the end of the Boston Marathon today.  I’m sitting here trying to figure out what’s going to happen next. Who knows. I’m a loyal listener of the station and frankly don’t want to change the channel.  I’m reading all these people being nasty and saying unkind things. That’s their opinion.  One phrase I always say, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.”  Included here is a picture of Richie.  How I’ll always remember him at the Fan. Fun and a real ham.  While some folks might not agree with me on that, it’s just my opinion.  In this area, it’s all about the ratings and well here’s the article that was put on the Dallas Morning News website today explaining what happened. :

Other than that, I really don’t have a clue what happened.

Onward to the tragedy in Boston, MA.  My heart goes out to everyone in Boston after what has happened. I hope to goodness that they find the people that did this.  No one deserves to see such violence at a big event like the Boston Marathon.  Now this day will forever be remember for a senseless act of violence like a bombing.  It’s a real shame.

And now for something completely different… for anyone who is fans of the improv show “Whose Line Is It Anyway”, get ready, they’re coming back!!!!!!!  Yes that’s right, it’s time for improv comedy mayhem to start up once more.  Coming to the CW network on July 16th.  Not sure who all is going to be on the show.  You can check out @WhoseLineNation on Twitter for updates.  And also follow @Mangum1 on twitter as well. One of the younger comedians who was on Drew Carey’s Improv-A-Ganza and he’s a hoot!!!  And on a really happy note, The Whose Line Anyway cast of Greg Proops, Ryan Stiles, Jeff B. Davis and Chip Esten are finally coming to Dallas, Texas next month on May 18th at the Majestic Theatre.  All I can say is that it’s about time they came to Dallas.  I had a total geeking out moment when I saw the date.  If you want some real entertainment, go google some old Improv-A-Ganza and watch Chip and Jeff singing.   What makes the women scream in the audience is when Chip winds up and does the James Brown splits. *drool moment*  A couple of ones to watch “Short Fuse”, “Bail Me Out” and “HMO” to name a few.

Here’s a Youtube link of “Bail Me Out”

“Short Fuse”

“Leave the Dollar In”

“I Chip, You Dig”

Here’s hours of entertainment for you.  Just a sample of improv fun.

And in closing, a big thanks goes out to the G-Bag Nation soldiers (@gbagnation) for getting Shan from New School to the next round in the sports broadcasters bracket at

Check this out and see who’s next. Vote for your favorites. It’s a lot of fun.

Laters everyone.

Nolan and JD….. the saga continues

As i listen to the Fan, they’re talking basketball atm. But pretty much for the past four days it’ s been nothing but Nolan vs. JD talk. Everyone is ranging from Nolan is about 90% done to he’s going nowhere. At this point i am so confused about what is going on. The one person that has not spoken yet is Nolan Ryan. A report came out that Jon Daniels had gotten a promotion and frankly i did not give it a second thought. Next thing i know there is a report that came from the Fort Worth Star Telegram saying that Nolan might be pushed out. I am thinking what the dickens is going on here. And frankly i am still wondering myself. Check on CBS Radio website for Dallas Fort Worth for more info about this developing situation.  I’ll post some more later

Nascar Sprint Season started

Well the day every Nascar fan awaits has finally come. The grandaddy of them all, the Daytona 500. Watching the race at the Quaker Steak and Lube in Plano, TX. Great food and a great crowd for raceday. Today we have had the first female to ever lead a green flag lap at Daytona, Danica Patrick. Who at this moment is sitting in 3rd placr behind Denny Hamlin.  It will be interesting to see if she can win. This race can be very unpredictable, especially at the end. Yesterday on the last lap of the Nationwide race, a crash took place I nevsr thought i would see. Thoughts and prayers with all the race fans affected.  Now to settle in and see who wins. Should be a great race.

And yesterday, who was right there up at the front but Jimmie Johnson, now winner of the 2013 Daytona 500.  Danica ended up finishing in 8th place, which is the highest a female has ever finished at the race. Proud of her for that. Great race yesterday, can’t wait to see what the rest of the season turns out like. Especially with the new gen six cars.
